Στο πλαίσιο του εορτασμού της «Παγκόσμιας Ημέρας κατά του καπνίσματος», η  οποία με απόφαση που έλαβε ο Παγκόσμιος Οργανισμός Υγείας το 1988, γιορτάζεται κάθε χρόνο στις 31 Μαΐου, το Εργαστήριο Ιατρικής Φυσικής του Τμήματος Ιατρικής του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης (ΑΠΘ) στέλνει το δικό του μήνυμα για τη διακοπή του καπνίσματος, έχοντας τον ρόλο του Συντονιστή του Ευρωπαϊκού Προγράμματος “SmokeFreeBrain” (Horizon2020) που ολοκληρώθηκε με επιτυχία πριν ένα περίπου χρόνο.

The CSI:Brainwave project receives another acknowledgement, as it was recently mentioned in a review of brain-computer interfaces for communication and rehabilitation, authored by Ujwal Chadhary and BCI field leaders Niels Birbaumer & Ander Ramos-Murguialday.

Prof. Dr. Harald C. Traue, director of the Emotion Lab Research Group of the University Clinic for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy, University of Ulm gave an interesting talk on "Recognition of human mental states in emotion- and social-sensitive systems" on Thursday 03 November 2016 at the Lab of Medical Physics, School of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

Distinction for CSI:Brainwave research project of the Medical Physics Lab of AUTH

 

The Hellenic Spine Society (http://eess.gr) awarded the presentation of CSI:Brainwave project with the 2016 “Vicky Zachariou” award during the 10th Hellenic Spine Congress & Joint Meeting with French and Turkish Spine Society, that took place on 26-29 October at the Makedonia Palace Hotel in Thessaloniki (http://synthesispco.com/spine2016).

The “Biomedical Technology/ Engineering and Living Labs” Workshop, was successfully organized by the Hellenic Society for Biomedical Technology (ELEVIT) and the Lab of Medical Physics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). The workshop took place at AUTH premises in Thessaloniki, Greece, on March 1st 2016.

Recent advances in mobile technologies have acted as catalysts for significant developments in the sector of health care, affecting strongly health practice and services, patient and healthcare management and, of course, health training and education. There is nowadays an international trend to involve mobile devices and ubiquitous access to Internet in medical curricula and in continuing life-long medical learning, in health monitoring, in active and healthy aging, lifestyle and well being management.
