Our brilliant Research Associates and PhD Students, Kostas Mitsopoulos & Vicky Fiska, recently embarked on a remarkable journey at Milton Keynes, for the GK Twinning Robotics event. This fantastic opportunity allowed them to connect with leading organizations in Europe and the UK, working towards revolutionizing the delivery of health and care services for the aging population.

During their time at The Open University of UK, Kostas and Vicky attended a thought-provoking session on "Challenges and opportunities of robotic intervention in domestic environments." The event showcased groundbreaking developments in the field of robotics, addressing healthcare needs within private homes and retirement compounds. Our Associates proudly shared the cutting-edge work from our Biomedical Electronics Robotics & Devices (BERD) research group, highlighting the tremendous potential of robotic systems in healthcare.

This incredible twinning initiative not only offered the chance to be part of the Gatekeeper mature ecosystem at a European level but also provided access to state-of-the-art knowledge derived from the Gatekeeper project. Kostas and Vicky had the privilege to network with pioneers in Big Data, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, and experienced public sector bodies, all committed to conducting large-scale pilot projects.

Off to conquer new frontiers, kudos to our brilliant team! Together, we are shaping the future of healthcare through innovation and collaboration!
