Dr. Vasliki (Vicky) Zilidou holds the position of PostDoc Research at the Lab of Medical Physics and Digital Innovation. She received her diploma from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science and her MSc in Medical Informatics, both from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece. She obtained 2021 her Ph.D. entitled "The effect of Greek traditional dance and aerobic exercise with the use of technology in the perceived quality of life of the elderly" from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science of AUTH.
Her current research interests include biomedical technology, design, development, exploitation, and evaluation of Assistive Technologies supporting older adults’ daily lives, as well as individuals belonging to vulnerable groups (e.g., patients with Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, dementia, Down Syndrome, Breast Cancer Women, etc.) with an emphasis on computerized physical training (exergames) and dancing. She has also been active in the study of neuroplasticity for some of these population groups, and she currently is the treasurer and a member of the board of directors of the Hellenic Society for Biomedical Technology.
Additionally, her research interests include the digitization of specific tools that are used to assess the physical status and functionality of older adults as well as the study of gait analysis to monitor any change in various pathological conditions.
