Sotiria Gilou has completed her bachelor studies in the Department of Mathematics of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) in 2012 and has obtained her master’s degree in Statistics and Modeling from aforementioned department in 2015.
Since 2016, she collaborates as a research associate with the Lab of Medical Physics and Digital Innovation, School of Medicine of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki under the supervision of Professor Panagiotis Bamidis and as of November 2018, she is officially a PhD candidate in the same Lab. The subject of her PhD thesis is “Comparative study of electrical impedance spectroscopy models against verified dermatological diagnostic data”.
Moreover, she is a Research Assistant in the same Laboratory, where she is working in various research projects like LLM Care with emphasis on children with syndrome down. Also, she is a biomedical data analyst and her research interests include statistical analysis in the fields of sleep medicine, neurophysiological evaluation of intervention targeting vulnerable populations and advanced methods for prognosis and disease progression in case of neurodegenerative disorders, non-communicable diseases and mobility difficulties.
She has contributions in interdisciplinary conferences either as presenter or having poster presentations as well as she is author of scientific papers.
