Aphrodite Tzortzi, a versatile Researcher and Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist (RDN), MSc, MPr ED - NCfED, implements a complex systems approach to drive interdisciplinary scientific inquiry. With Master's degrees in Clinical Mental Health and Philosophical, Pedagogical, and Interdisciplinary Anthropology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where she excelled as both a pioneering student and graduate, she brings a diverse perspective to her work. Her pivotal role at the 3rd Department of Psychiatry, AHEPA University Hospital, sees her leading initiatives in the eating disorders clinic.
Aphrodite Tzortzi has spearheaded innovative projects focused on astronaut well-being, seamlessly integrating her expertise in nutritional medicine and interpersonal neurobiology to address stress, emotional wellbeing and nutrition in extreme environments. Her dedication to interdisciplinary research and education is evident in the creation of the "Wellness Universe" workshop, CERN - Playing with Protons - Project, where she innovatively merged wellness principles with physics education, drawing on insights from nutritional neuroscience to promote mental health among students, teachers and parents.
Aphrodite's research interests encompass nutritional psychiatry, minorities' food security, eating disorders, and sustainability, underscoring her commitment to addressing societal challenges. Furthermore, her active participation in international educational programs, volunteer initiatives, and seminars reflects her commitment to community engagement and innovation in combating mental health stigma. Driven by a pioneering mindset and diverse expertise, she is dedicated to advancing scientific discovery and promoting holistic and evidence based well-being on a global scale.
