The Lab of Medical Physics and Digital Innovation and the University of Nottingham in collaboration with the Immersive Learning Research Network invite you to an interactive discussion for exploring meaningful use cases of XR in healthcare education.

Virtual Reality, although massively known for immersive gaming and entertainment, has revolutionized education and training during the last years in many fields. In medicine, VR has been used from the simulated reconstruction of organs to preoperative planning and from teaching anatomy, physiology, surgery, etc to physical and mental rehabilitation of patients.

This workshop aims to immerse the iLRN community and relevant healthcare practitioners in developing VR projects and applications, exploring healthcare VR prospects and co-create ,VR use cases. Join us to create the future!

19:45 to 20:30 Discussion Panel: Immersive Media in MedEd

This collaborative audience driven panel aims to explore the community’s perceptions about the role and context of XR in healthcare education. How Clinical skills and Decision-making skills training translate to MedEd training? Would you choose an exploratory “Human Atlas” or an interactive serious games? How “playful” would you like your MedEd? These are some of the questions that the audience will explore with the help of the panelists. Exploratory and Interactive serious game XR resources, XR narratives for healthcare, and their level of intensity, relevance to learning and the true need for intense gaming elements will be some of the topics that will also be explored.
