During the closed (by invitation-only) workshop "IDIKA Oncology and Cancer Decision Makers Forum," Panagiotis Bamidis, Chair, HL7 Hellas & our Director here at AUTH Medical Physics & Digital Innovation Lab, shared insights into the European Cancer Actions and the groundbreaking projects like eCAN Joint Action, LifeChamps-H2020, ONCODIReu, COMFORT, and PECan - Partners of Experience in Cancer. These projects hold immense potential for the future of cancer treatment.

The forum, organized by IDIKA, aimed to bring together key stakeholders to analyze challenges and actions essential for the successful implementation of the Cancer digital transformation program.

In 2022, Greece submitted an extensive and ambitious program about the digital transformation in healthcare to the Resilience and Recovery Fund (RRF) mechanism. IDIKA is the NCPeH representing and implementing services both for the cross-border myhealth@EU services and the National Cloud Health Provider, which hosts all national eHealth applications (National EHR, ePrescription system, etc.). Part of the RRF program is the implementation of a digital transformation program for cancer treatment.

Hopes are high that IDIKA and the Greek government will leverage the results of iMedphys projects to enhance public health and improve outcomes for cancer patients.
