The field of healthcare is constantly evolving and improving with the help of new technologies and research. One of the ways this progress is achieved is through collaboration between researchers and institutions. Recently, researchers from the University of Vlore "Ismail Qemali" had the opportunity to work with the Lab of Medical Physics and Digital Innovation at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki through the VITALISE Open Calls for Transnational Access.

The VITALISE program offers researchers the opportunity to access research infrastructure and collaborate with experts from different institutions across Europe. The University of Vlore's researchers were specifically interested in the Healthcare Transitions Living Lab at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where they conducted a research study.

During their visit, the researchers participated in a Fast Track Training Program for the first two days, where they were introduced to various technologies and resources available in the lab. The remaining days were spent conducting co-creation sessions with healthcare professionals and elderly members of the community. These sessions focused on issues related to transitional care, which is an essential part of healthcare.

The co-creation sessions were facilitated by the lab's research staff and aimed to gather input from healthcare professionals and patients on the challenges and opportunities of transition care. Through these sessions, the researchers were able to gain valuable insights and perspectives from those directly involved in the healthcare system.

In addition to the co-creation sessions, the researchers also had the opportunity to visit the Healthcare Transitions Living Lab at the Ippokrateio General Hospital of Thessaloniki and the Human Centrifuge. These experiences provided the researchers with a comprehensive understanding of the infrastructures and technologies available in the lab, and how they can be used to improve healthcare.

Collaboration and knowledge sharing between institutions and researchers are essential to advancing healthcare and improving patient outcomes. VITALISE's initiative for Transnational Access is an excellent example of how institutions and researchers can work together to achieve this goal. The University of Vlore's researchers' visit to the Lab of Medical Physics and Digital Innovation at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is a prime example of how such collaboration can lead to fruitful research and development, and ultimately, a better healthcare system for all.
